2003 Service/Achievement Awards

Pilgrim Honored at ADS’ 2003 Technical Meeting

ATLANTA -- George Pilgrim, formerly Vice President and Technical Specialist for Carriage House Companies, Inc., Fredonia, New York, was presented with the 2003 Technical Service Award from The Association for Dressings and Sauces (ADS) during the Association’s Technical Meeting in Tampa, Florida, April 27-29. Nominations for this award are taken from the general ADS membership and then voted on by ADS’ Executive Technical Board.

Mr. Pilgrim received the award due to his outstanding contributions to ADS’ Executive Technical Board and Portion Control/Flexible Packaging Committee. Mr. Pilgrim also shared his valuable knowledge and expertise as a presenter at several ADS Technical Meetings, most recently at the 2003 Technical Meeting during the workshop, “Basics and New Opportunities in Formulation and Processing Red Sauces.” He also provided dressing and sauce safety information to attendees of the 2002 meeting of the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) in Portland, Oregon. This presentation was instrumental in disseminating to regulatory officials accurate information regarding the safety of industry’s products.

According to ADS’ Associate Director, Jeannie Milewski, “George’s dedication and expertise has contributed greatly to the ADS technical programs and has influenced the vision and accomplishments of many ADS technical programs.”
