Package of the Year
THEASSOCIATION FOR DRESSINGS AND SAUCES NAMES ATLANTA -- The Association for Dressings and Sauces (ADS) named its sixth annual Package of the Year at its Annual Meeting held October 16-18 at the Marriott Rancho Las Palmas Resort The Package of the Year award was given to Kraft Foods, Inc. for their Mayo Big Mouth Jar™ . This innovative, patented design is an industry first, having a unique oval shape and flip-top closure that is easy to grip and can be conveniently stored in refrigerator door racks. Kraft received consumer feedback, which led them to address the concerns by making the jar shatterproof with an opening wide enough to get all the product out without the mess. “We’re thrilled that the Kraft Mayo Big Mouth Jar™ has been awarded the 2005 Package of the Year from the Association for Dressings & Sauces,” comments Maurice Markey, Senior Category Business Director, Kraft Foods. “We’ve always known that consumers like the great taste of Kraft Mayo and wanted to provide even greater convenience to mayonnaise lovers through a new packaging breakthrough.” The Package of the Year award is presented by ADS to increase the awareness of packaging and to celebrate the accomplishments of the packaging industry for dressing, sauce and condiment-related packages. ADS members cast their votes for the nominated package each deemed most innovative during ADS’ May 2005 Technical Meeting.
