2004 Package of the Year THE ASSOCIATION FOR DRESSINGS AND SAUCES NAMES
The Package of the Year award was given to Unilever Foodsolutions for their Hellmann’s®/Best Foods® Easy Pan™ Mayonnaise. The package is a 64 oz. thermoform plastic tray of mayonnaise with a unique, peelable seal. It's the same size and shape as an industry-standard stainless steel 1/6 pan and fits all cold-prep sandwich assembly stations. “Foodservice operators appreciate the convenience of this package,” says Catherine Priolo, Brand Manager for Unilever Foodsolutions, who accepted the award during Tuesday’s General Session. “We are pleased to be recognized for our innovation with this package design.” The film vendor for the package is Curwood, Inc. and the package vendor is Fabri-Kal Corporation. Representatives from both supporting companies were also recognized at the ADS Annual Meeting. The Package of the Year award is presented by ADS to increase the awareness of packaging in general and to celebrate the accomplishments of the packaging industry for dressing, sauce and condiment-related packages. Nominations for the award were received and ADS members cast their votes for the package each deemed most innovative during ADS’ April 2004 Technical Meeting. The Association for Dressings and Sauces is an international trade association of salad dressing, mayonnaise, mustard and other condiment sauce manufacturers and their suppliers. ATLANTA -- The Association for Dressings and Sauces (ADS) named its fifth annual Package of the Year at its Annual Meeting held October 3-5 at the Amelia Island Ritz Carlton Hotel in Amelia Island, Florida.
