2001 Package of the Year
THE ASSOCIATION FOR DRESSINGS AND SAUCES NAMES
The Package of the Year award was given to Stonyfield Farm for their single-serve portable tube yogurt, Yo Squeeze. Available in five flavors, Yo Squeeze is packaged in eight 2-ounce tubes per box. With enhanced dispensability due to its tubular shape, this package was developed for consumer ease and efficiency in mind. John Daigle, Vice President of Operations, accepted the award on behalf of Stonyfield Farm. "We are very honored to be recognized with this award and extremely proud of the Yo Squeeze product and packaging," said Daigle, "In addition to kids enjoying the packaging and great taste, we know parents can appreciate the unique health benefits including the fact that we are now the only certified organic portable yogurt in the U.S." ADS also presented awards to Don Lander and Charles Ravalli of Hassia USA and Jeff Hopp of Curwood Inc. for each of their company's supporting role in producing the Stonyfield Farm package. Hassia USA manufactures the packaging equipment used by Stonyfield Farm and Curwood Inc. manufacturers the film used in the Yo Squeeze package. The Package of the Year award is presented by ADS to increase the awareness of packaging in general and to celebrate the accomplishments of the packaging industry for dressing, sauce and condiment-related packages. Packages with potential for application to the dressings and sauces industry, such as Stonyfield Farm's Yo Squeeze, are also considered. Nominations for the award were received from ADS members, and members then voted on the nominated packages during the Association's Technical Meeting held in May, 2001. The Association for Dressings and Sauces is an international trade association of salad dressing, mayonnaise, mustard and other condiment sauce manufacturers and their suppliers.

ATLANTA -- The Association for Dressings and Sauces (ADS) named its second annual Package of the Year award recipient at its Annual Meeting held October 7-10 at the Sheraton El Conquistador in Tucson, Arizona.
