Air Travel to Portland
Portland International Airport is served by 14 major domestic airlines, including Alaska, American, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Jetblue, Northwest, SWA, United and US Airways. It is located just 20 minutes (13 miles) from the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront hotel.

Transportation
Transfer options between the Portland International Airport and Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront include:

  • Blue Star Airport Shuttle: Blue Star offers an airport shuttle service, door-to-door. Contact them at (503) 249-1837; cost is approximately $14 (one way); reservation required.
  • Taxi service is also available at the airport via five separate companies.
  • Tri-Met/MAX rail system is also available. The MAX train drops you off at the Pioneer Square North station, approximately 11 blocks NW of the Marriott.
  • Most major car rental agencies offer services at the airport. Valet parking is $26/day at the Marriott; self-parking is not available at the hotel.

Driving Directions

The Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront Hotel is located on the west side of the Willamette River on Naito Parkway, nine blocks south of the Morrison Bridge. You can view and print a street map via the hotel’s Web site at the link above.

Traveling from the Airport:
The hotel is located approximately 13 miles northwest of the airport. Take Airport Way East to I-205 South. Then take I-84 West to the City Center (City Center/Oregon City) exit, continue to follow signs to City Center. Cross Morrison Bridge and take Naito Parkway Exit and turn right. Hotel is 1/2 mile on right.

Northbound on I-5: Take City Center/Naito Parkway Exit. Go through two stoplights; hotel is directly on right.

Valet parking is available at the hotel for $26/day, including in/out privileges. This is a special discounted rate for ADS hotel guests only. Self-parking is not available at the hotel but is available at a fee at nearby lots.

Weather and Dress
In late April and early May, daytime temperatures are typically in the high 60’s, with evening temperatures in the high 40’s. Evenings can be cool, so bring a jacket. Rainfall is moderate in April & May, averaging a little over two inches per month. Business casual attire is appropriate for all business sessions and social activities during the Technical Meeting.
