Monday, October 15
La Jolla Coast and Tidepool Walk
La Jolla’s rocky cliffs, sandy coves, palm trees, and brilliant flowers are a must-see when visiting San Diego. It is considered one of the most exquisite areas of the country in which to live.
Depart the hotel following breakfast. First stop is tour of the Birch Aquarium at Scripps, where you will have 45 minutes of free time to explore the aquarium. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this beautiful facility offers guests the opportunity to view undersea creatures in realistic habitats. Docents are on hand to answer questions.
Following the aquarium will be a delicious Mediterranean-style lunch at Azul La Jolla in the village of La Jolla. The restaurant offers a beautiful view of the Pacific.

The highlight of the tour caps the day, as you will explore one of the most beautiful meetings of land and sea in the world, right on the shores of La Jolla. As you walk along the coastline, guided by a certified naturalist, you will see some of the loveliest ocean views and dramatic settings, and experience close encounters with pelicans, rocky inter-tidal life and harbor seals. Follow pathways and enter sandy coves as you wind your way along the famed La Jolla coastline learning about La Jolla’s history, marine life, tide pools and kelp beds.
Tour requires a minimum of 20 participants registered by Friday, September 14 to commence. If the tour must be cancelled, we will advise the registered participants and refund the tour fees.
Depart Hotel at 10:00 a.m. Return to Hotel at approximately 3:30 p.m.

ADS GOLF SCRAMBLE

Monday, October 15 – 1:00 p.m. Shotgun Start
As one of Southern California's finest golf clubs, Steele Canyon has been awarded Golf Digest's Four Star Rating, one of only three golf clubs so honored in San Diego County. The 27-hole championship course was personally designed by Gary Player with respect and appreciation for the natural beauty of the terrain. Each of the three nines offers a distinct environment and type of play for all levels of golfers with the rugged Canyon Course's dramatic shot making challenges and breathtaking elevations, the Ranch Course winding through the fields of a working ranch and the Meadow course stretching along the valley floor with beautiful woodlands and streams.

The golf course is located approximately 26 miles/40 minutes from the hotel. Transportation will be provided. A shotgun start is set for 1:00 p.m. Along with the normal individual and team prizes, there will be a Hole-In-One contest on four separate holes, with a top Prize of $5,000. Dress code is collared shirts and soft spikes (non-metal) only. No cutoffs, denim or swim trunks are allowed. Spouses/companions are encouraged to play in the outing. A boxed lunch and bottled water will be provided for each player. You can store your clubs in your room, but storing with the bell desk might allow for easier access on Monday. Rental clubs are available at $55, and include one sleeve of balls. Please indicate on the on-line registration form your need for men’s or women’s clubs, right or left-handed preference, as well as your average score/handicap. A beverage cart will be available on the course; all purchases are the responsibility of the individual.
Cost per person: $200 (includes boxed lunch, bottled water on the cart, prizes and hole-in-one contest)
Rental clubs @ $55 are a separate charge.
ADS BOCCE BALL TOURNAMENT
Tuesday, October 16, 1:00 pm start time
Bocce Ball – an ADS tradition! Throwing balls toward a target is the oldest game known to mankind. As early as 5,000 B.C. the Egyptians played a form of bocce with polished rocks. The game evolved and spread through the Roman Empire and came to America with the Italian immigrant families. The ease of learning to play Bocce ball makes it a sport that people of all ages and abilities can play. Competition, laughter and fun are all part of the game!
The ADS Bocce Ball Tournament begins at 1:00 p.m. Because of the wonderful weather in Coronado in October, this year’s competition returns to the great outdoors. Right next to the pool on the Marina Terrace, where sod courts will be set up to give that classic feel to the game. Non-alcoholic refreshments will be available during the game. Please plan to have lunch prior to the tournament.

ADS TENNIS TOURNAMENT
Tuesday, October 16, 1:00 p.m. start time
The ADS Annual Tennis Tournament will be held Tuesday afternoon. The hotel’s Tennis Professional will organize players into doubles teams to play in a round-robin format. If you are interested in teaming up with your spouse, please let staff know at jknight@kellencompany.com. Rental racquets are available for rental for free on-site. Non-alcoholic refreshments will be available. Plan to have lunch on your own prior to the tournament.

Guns, gadgets, girls and much more! Britain's number one action adventure hero celebrated 40 years on the silver screen in October last year. The now legendary secret agent continues to captivate audiences worldwide, from Sean Connery in the 60’s, through to Daniel Craig today.

Celebrate 2007 with ADS in style at the Tuesday evening closing “007 Theme Party.” This event includes casino games, played with fake money, but yielding real prizes. See Bond on the big screen in “Goldfinger”, as he wrestles with Odd Job and gawks at the pretty ladies. The martini bar will help to make it a night to remember. Feel free to dress as your favorite Bond movie character.
